The Reverend Jalen T. Oliver is a proud native of Tuskegee, AL, born to Rev. James D. Oliver & (the late) Mrs. Tammy Canady Oliver. He has been a minister of the gospel for 8 years.
He commenced his preaching ministry at age 15 and his pastoral ministry at 21. Reverend Oliver most recently served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Whitehall where they grew together & experienced the same within every ministry. As a church he led as Interim Pastor, he ushered First Baptist through the pandemic and navigated them through transition.
Pastor Oliver is a studious young man. He attended The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he began his journey to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & Religious Studies. At "The Capstone", Jalen previously served as President of the Future Black Law Student Association, Event Director of the UA NAACP, Vice President of the UA-NAACP, Director of High School Outreach for First Fellows and President of the University of Alabama Chapter of the NAACP.
Upon graduation from college, he will further his education so he can continue to IMPACT THE WORLD in a positive way!
Jalen is a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Tuskegee, Alabama, where he has served on the Ministerial staff under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John H. Curry, Jr. He also served as Youth Minister at Bethel MBC under the supervision of his father, Rev. James D. Oliver and President of the Southeast District Congress of Christian Education Youth. His favorite quote is, "The sky is not the limit if there are footsteps on the moon".
